Blank Photoshop Starter Template

Below you will find a basic layout that will get you started designing your business card using Photoshop. The template is ideal for submitting your design to a commercial printer (you only need to send one properly formatted card for professional four color offset printing services, unlike cards you will print at home which you will want to have 8 or 10 cards to a page). The template is sized at 3.75 inches by 2.25 inches, which allows for an eighth of an inch bleed (bleed is the extra image area that will be cut off after your card is printed, allowing you to have image that goes all the way to the edge of the card). The template is a CMYK document at 300 dpi, which is what most commercial printers require. Please check the specifications for PSD file submissions with your specific printer.

If you are intereseted in a four color printed card, you will want to add an image or photo in the background. We provide several free to use backgrounds in the "Downloadable Backgrounds" section of our site. You can also check out our "Design Resources" page for some great links to online resources of stock images.
